Calculus asks whether you have received, or expect to receive, income from an institution in 2026. The question lists wages, scholarship, commissions, royalties and other payments. The institution is the one that referred you to Sprintax Calculus, such as your university or employer.
The question covers only payments from that institution. Calculus asks about pay from any other US employer in a separate question.
When do I answer Yes?
Answer Yes if you received any payment from the institution in 2026, or if you expect to receive one before the end of the year. Count payments you received before you started Calculus and payments you expect later in 2026.
When do I answer No?
Answer No if you have not received any payment from the institution in 2026 and you do not expect to receive one. If you are not sure, contact your institution before you answer.
What payments does the question include?
| Type of payment | What it means |
|---|---|
| Wages | Pay for work you do for the institution, such as on-campus employment. |
| Scholarship | A scholarship or fellowship grant from the institution. |
| Commissions | Pay that depends on the sales or services you provide. |
| Royalties | Payments for the use of something you created or own. |
| Other payments | Any other payment from the institution, such as an award or a prize. |
What happens after I answer Yes?
Calculus asks follow-up questions about the type of income you expect and the estimated amount. Calculus uses your answers to work out which forms you need. You can find the forms in the Document Exchange tab at the top of your page.
What if I am not sure which type of payment I received?
Calculus cannot advise you on which income type or income code applies to you. Review the information for each option and select the one that fits best. If you are not sure, ask the institution that pays you.
Why can I not change my answer to this question?
Your institution may pre-select the answer to this question. When it does, the answer is locked and you cannot edit it. If you think the pre-selected answer is wrong, contact your institution and ask them to confirm it.
